About Department


   The Physical Education Department of the college was established on 1 July 1967. Form the last 57 years, there is a constant endeavor through physical education to bring together the students' sports and artistic talent. Institution has made available the ample facilities to the sports department. There are various grounds of sports available in the college. Currently, indoor and outdoor games are available in the colleges. In outdoor facilities Football, Volleyball, Cricket, Kabaddi, Long jump, , Shot-put, Discuss Throw, javelin, are available. There are playgrounds of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Cricket at in front of college building. Taluka Sports Complex, Deulgaon Raja has been established on the college premises behind the college building and a running track of 200 meters is available in the Taluka Sports Complex, D. Raja. The 200m running track has fields for long jump, discus throw, Shot put and javelin throw. College athletes benefit greatly from these facilities. College students practice on this running track during athletics competition. In-Indoor sports facilities are available with state-of-the-art gym, yoga, TableTennis, carrom, chess, wrestling mattresses. The College provides all kinds of necessary sports equipment to the students. Incentive marks are also given to students participating in intercollegiate and interuniversity tournaments. A large number of students every year participate in different sports activities in inter collegiate as well as inter university tournaments. The department has produced good number of color Holders. Sports persons who receive special proficiency in sports are encouraged by giving news in news paper, publishing a name on the main notice board of the college, giving cash prizes etc. The department of Physical Education not only focuses on Physical development of students but also focuses mainly making those good citizens. Through this department, students are encouraged to participate in the Youth Festival. All the necessary facilities are provided by the department to the participants of the Youth Festival. During the year, various sports events are organized by this department. In this, on the occasion of the Death anniversary of the late Raje Rajendrasingh Jadhav , on the occasion of Ganapati festival. Tournaments are also organiz on occasion of annual gathering. On behalf of the college, inter-collegiate sports competitions are organized . During the session 2018-19, B Zone of Inter-Collegiate Boys Kabaddi Match organized by Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University, Amravati was organized in the college. Also, during the session 2022-23, Zone A of the inter-college girls badminton match organized by Sant Gadge baba Amravati University, Amravati was organized in the college. Special efforts are made for the health of the students and staff of the college like organizing an international yoga camp every year. Also, yoga camps are organized by inviting various yoga experts throughout the year. Physical efficiency classes are taken for students from July. Physical efficiency test is organized for students in February. Summer camps are also organized by the department for the school students to learn the various sport techniques.
