DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY

Shri Vyankatesh Arts, commerce and Science College is established in 1967. The department of History is in the college since its establishment. In the beginning of college there were only two classes PUC and B. A. I. Due to he natural growth B. A. II and B. A. III classes were started in the year 1972-73 and 1973-74 respectively. As per the direction of university and govt. of Maharashtra this is the single faculty department since the establishment of the college.

The history department is very active in various fields, especially academic and research. In academic the student of History department, Ravi Khillare achieved gold medal in university exam 2012. Deulgaon Raja, Sindkhed Raja are the important historical places having the ancient historical background. Sindkhed Raja is native place of Rajmata Jijau and Deulgaon Raja is pilgrimage place of God Lord Balaji Maharaj. The department has done historical research of Deulgaon Raja, Sindkhed Raja, Balaji Maharaj Sasthan, Jadhav dynasty of Sindkhed Raja as well as Deulgaon Raja. The department has acquainted the students with the cultural history of nation and helped for the student’s career with respect to the competitive examination. Many students get help of this subject degree level to succeed in various civil service exams and teaching professions. Similarly history subject open the vista of the various opportunities to the students for their career eg.1) Archaeology, 2)Museology, 3) Museum curator, 4) Archivists, 5) Historian, 6) History experts 7) Heritage manager.
