Physics is an exciting intellectual adventure that inspires young people and expands the frontiers of our knowledge about Nature. The main aim of department to provide quality education to the students from economically and educationally backward rural community and also to reach standards of excellence in teaching , research.

The Department of Physics is established in the academic year 2009-10provide quality education to the students. The department has well equipped laboratories of Physics, Electronics, dark room and also departmental library. Mr. Arvind D. Kanwate is Head of the Department. To enhance the interest of students in renewable energy sources, department started short term “Renewable Energy Sources” certificate courses at B. Sc. II year student from the academic year 2018-19.Also department offers Mini project for B.Sc. III year student to develop his scientific ideas about in various field like solar energy, thin films, electronics, astrophysics and astronomy, nano-science, nano-particles etc. to helpful doing M.Sc. and getting jobs on the basis of projects.

Department promotes interdisciplinary thinking and creates opportunities by regularly organizing Guest lectures, virtual lectures, seminars, group discussion, quiz competition for students. Department also guided to crack competitive exams like IIT-JAM, TIFR, and M.Sc. entrance test of various universities. College has a Learning local Chapter of (NPTEL) National Program on Technology Enhanced learning and Mr. Arvind D. Kanwate worked as SPOC for NPTEL Courses & student from Physics department can enroll for online NPTEL courses.
