About Department


   Since the college’s inception (1967),the Department of Marathi has been established. The department of Marathi has made effortsto develop linguistic skills in students and to create interest in literature. Asst. Prof. Madhukar Jadhao has been working as head of the department since 2021. Initially, only the Compulsory Marathi subject was taught at the graduate level in the college. Since 2009-2010 Marathi literature has been introduced in the college along with the Compulsory Marathi subject. The motive behind this is to let the students learn Marathi Literature and to avail the opportunities for employment
   To make available the facility of post-graduation to the students in the rural area and the students in the periphery of Deulgaon Raja, M.A. in Marathi is also started from the session 2010-2011.Maximum students could pursue their studies in M.A. in Marathi and most of them have had jobs in various fields as proud alumni of the department. The department is always conscious of the constant changes in the field of teaching and learning and is always ready to accept those changes for the betterment of students.
   Mr. Madhukar Jadhao has been working as anAssistant Professor since 2016in the Department of Marathi. He is a former student of this college. He is a poet and has published two books, ‘Sanskruti Kal Ani Aaj’&‘Kavita:Vishitalya’ Ani Mishitalya. His writing is also published in newspapers, magazines and Diwali magazines. He has been a part of many literary gatherings andis invited as a poet in the Poet’s meets. He has been awarded UTKRUST MARATHI ADHYAPAN SEVA AWARD in 2023 &Rav SahebDahiwal Smruti WangmayPuraskar in 2024. His poems have won the literary awards. He has presented more than 20 research papers in various seminars and conferences.
   In this department. Dr. Sunil Pawar is an assistant professor on Clock Hour Basis and is well-known as a writer. Two collections of his poetry have been published, Sandhatana and Ceasar no Kavita. His collection of poetry has received many awards.
