Along with teaching department organizes various programmes for the overall development of the students. Department has successfully organized a national level conference “Frontiers in Chemical Sciences” (FCS) on 23 December 2017.Department has organized a state level Power Point Presentation competition for UG students on 20 February 2017.
Department organizes regular guest lectures of various academicians and also virtual lecture using video conferencing for the students.
Department also organizes regularly seminars, group discussion, Quiz competition, poster competition, Study tour for students. Student project are done by the department. Department publishes a wall magazine “Science Today” each year which is prepared by students.
Department is also actively engaged in social outreach programmes. Department has organized some social awareness programme like -
Department has organized a programme on “Harmful effects of fertilizers on human health” for farmers in the surrounding villages.
Department has alsoorganized a programme on “Harmful effect of alcoholism on human health in society” for peoples in the nearby villages to make them aware about it.
A soil testing laboratory is started as extension activity. In this activity student collect soil samples from nearby village and from their own farm and test them in the laboratories and report of the soil testing is discussed with the farmers for necessary action to be taken if required.
Department organizes study tour for students to various pharmaceutical company and research lab.
Chemical of the week – This activity is started by department to make student aware about the chemicals which they are using in the laboratory. In this activity a chemical name is given to students and information about it is collected by them and then they submit it to department.
Magical Chemistry - A magical chemistry event is organized for student to demonstrate some chemical reactions which looks like magic.
