The Department organizes various student centered activities like science exhibition, quiz competiton, seminar, poster presentation competition and guest lecturers every year.
Science Exhibition: There are many students who always try to implement the things that they learn and they find these platforms of exhibitions a great way to showcase what and all that they have tried.
Quiz Competition: Quizzes are interactive platforms where students gain knowledge, seek opportunities to excel beyond academics and secure their future. Since questions are based syllabus and out-of-syllabus and require critical thinking and extensive research, students get into the habit of innovative learning from an early age. Students need to form teams while participating in quizzes, giving them an opportunity to hone their teamwork skills.
Seminars: Students cannot improve their knowledge from textbooks alone. They must be take part in various seminars on latest topics. Seminars help them to convey their own ideas to their friends and teachers.
Poster Presentation: Such a competition Helps the students to Know the audience, Be focused and know the point you want to get across, Provide a brief, clearly stated background and walk the audience through the content of the poster by interpreting all results
Guest lecture: A Guest Speaker can be a great tool for the improvement of a class, because it offers a new perspective and variety in the way it is taught, while it provides important specific subjects. Students have a chance to learn about said specific topic in a way that helps them get fully involved in the class and actively engage in a more approachable way of teaching.
Conference: National and state level conferences are a great place to find people who can help you meet your professional goals and better understand what’s happening in different fields.Conferences offer a time of bonding where knowledge is shared beyond the Boundaries.
Besides these activities department celebrates Science day, Vasundhra din, vanamohotsav, water day etc. The students of Botany also take parts in NPTEL courses. Faculty members of department guides to student about examinations like KVPY, IIT-JAM, GATE, PG-entrance etc. Various competitions as well as curricular extracurricular activities such as debate, elocution, server projects, wall magazines ,research paper competition study tour, newspaper article analysis etc. have been arranged by the department up till now.
