As per the academic calendar prepared by the college with the help of the university academic calendar the process of teaching, learning and evaluation of every academic session begins 1st of July. At the very beginning of the session, in the academic diary, which is also prepared by the Internal Quality Assurence Cell in the college with the help of the university academic calendar we prepare an academic plan for the academic year. The plan for evaluation and assessment of the students is also prepared in the diary. After completing each lesson the notes are dictated in the class as well as the students are asked to prepare their notes with the help of classroom notes, discussions in the classroom and reference books available in the college library.
Unit tests are held after completion of the unit. The evaluated answer sheets of the unit test are discussed with students in classroom. The weak and advanced learners are identified as well as separate extra lectures are conducted for them. They are provided additional study material or notes. The parents of these students are consulted telephonically or by post. Personal visits are also paid to such students and their parents. to improve their stage courage and analytical skills seminars presentations were conducted for students. Also to evaluate the level of understanding the quiz competitions and group discussions were also organized. All students are appealed and motivated to participate in these activities. Along with this, to improve the active involvement of students in the teaching-learning process the interactive sessions were held in every month.
The department of economics always encourages the use of ICT in teaching. It helps to make the teaching-learning process more effective and helpful in increasing the active involvement of students..We regularly use the Digital Class Room, Power Point Presentations and various Audio-Visual Aids in teaching-learning process. To enhance the understanding of students and increase their active involvement in teaching-learning process the interactive sessions were often organized by the department. For getting extra knowledge of current economic issues, department arranges guest lecturers of eminent persons from various colleges & universities every year.
All the records and files of all these activities undertaken during the year were maintained by the department. This record is checked by the Hon. Principal as well as by the IQAC regularly. Besides these activities the study projects and home assignments are also the activities which help us for effective teaching and learning process.
